Only a couple of weeks after Science Park has won the BREEAM in use „Very good” qualification again, another milestone was reached in the life of the soon-to-be-renewed office building.
Following the rebranding of Science Park, the tendering of carefully selected architecture agencies began in November 2016. The task was to draft an exterior and interior design concept that resonates with the new image, is in-line with the market trends and takes into account the architectural and environmental circumstances.
“We had the privilege to choose from several outstanding designs during the tender. The jury finally decided upon the excellent concept presented by DVM group because that was the one that best harmonized with the renewed image of the building and will be able to provide a modern, high-quality and humane working environment for our current and future tenants.” – said Ms. Hajnalka Nagy, representative of Science Park and assigned project manager.
The winner, DVM group focused on three main areas when elaborating the plans of the overall renewal of the office building. They strived to create a harmonious unity of environment planning, interior design and bracing of the facade, to enhance the building with buoyant image elements and thus to make Science Park unique among the manifold market of office buildings.
The garden units encircling the easily accessible office park in Buda will have separate identities. This will not only facilitate the orientation, but will also render several use opportunities that will be accentuated by carefully selected furniture - thus creating a meeting point and recreational or working community spaces. Green surfaces will help improve the climate and mood as well, but it is also a sustainability priority: the plant combinations will be located according to the eco-requirements and will as well enable the plants to decorate the building in rotation, all around the year. The created microclimate will help the individual plants to assist each other, thus ensuring their upkeep.
The unique colours of the common spaces, the signage system as well as the revitalisation of the reception areas will all foster easy orientation within the buildings and make the working spaces really pleasant. When redesigning the reception and common areas, it is technically a must to make the building flexibly convertible and transformable, according to tenants’ demands. The new caption on the facade will clearly identify the reviving building complex already from a distance.
„It is always an exciting task to update an already existing building. And, although we have gathered considerable experience in such jobs in the past few years, there are no two identical projects: each and every task will be met with customized answers of the highest level. Our architects and designers react with long-standing and creative solutions to the exciting challenges of Science Park” – said Tibor Massányi, managing partner of DVM group. „The strictly structured office park serves as a very good basis for us since the clear-out monochrome building is apt for spectacular changes even with the slightest but well-measured modifications. Our concept is to improve ‘user experience’ of the tenants as well as the image of the building with the help of refined architectural means. We believe that smart design serves as a significant tool of successful communication.”
